Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Shoulder Wax.
Most clients see smooth shoulders for three to six weeks, depending on hair growth rate. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and lead to finer hairs over time. Touch-ups every 4–6 weeks help maintain a consistently clean appearance.
Some discomfort is normal, especially on first waxing, but sessions are brief. Our technicians use pre-treatment oils, proper technique, and cool compresses to reduce sensation. Regular waxing also lessens sensitivity as hair grows back finer.
Exfoliate gently two nights before and keep skin clean. Avoid heavy lotions, sunburn, or recent tanning. Let hair be about quarter-inch long for effective removal. Inform staff of any medications or skin sensitivities beforehand.
Waxing can occasionally lead to ingrown hairs, especially if hair is curly or skin is dry. Prevent them by gentle exfoliation starting a few days after treatment, moisturizing, and avoiding tight clothing. We offer aftercare tips and treatments for persistent ingrowns.
No significant downtime — most clients resume normal activities immediately. You may experience temporary redness or mild sensitivity for a few hours. Avoid hot baths, saunas, or heavy exercise for 24 hours to reduce irritation and promote healing.
Clients with active sunburn, open wounds, recent chemical peels, or certain skin conditions should postpone waxing. Inform us if you're using retinoids, blood thinners, or pregnant. Our staff will assess suitability and recommend alternatives or appropriate timing.
